Sermon Date: June 20, 2021
Speaker: Pastor Martin Hawley
What and whom you listen to will influence what you do. Sounds like the advice you might give your kids or a younger brother. But this is sound advice for kids of all ages. Let's face it... your life has been defined by the voices you've chosen to tune in, as well as those you've opted to tune out. On Friend Sunday, June 13, South Bay Bible Church, 578 Montauk Highway, East Moriches, will launch a new teaching series entitled, Opt In, Opt Out: Listen to the Right Voices. Join us in person or online at southbaychurchli.org/livestream, Facebook Live, or YouTube.
All of us wish we could go back and dial up certain voices in our lives. And if we could go back, there are voices we would tune out altogether. But we can't go back. What we can do, however, is begin to listen with greater intensity and discernment now.
In this three-part series, Pastor Hawley introduces us to the three primary voices we should tune into beginning today.
Part 2 of 3: Listen and Learn (Proverbs 1:20-33) –June 20: There is no shortage of advisors in this world, but when a myriad of voices come at you, how do you know which ones to listen to and which ones to brush aside? The Bible advises us to seek wise counsel, but what does that mean? How do we define wisdom? In this lesson, Pastor reveals the one voice we should always be open to.
