Sermon Date: June 27, 2021
Speaker: Pastor Martin Hawley
What and whom you listen to will influence what you do. Sounds like the advice you might give your kids or a younger brother. But this is sound advice for kids of all ages. Let's face it... your life has been defined by the voices you've chosen to tune in, as well as those you've opted to tune out. On Friend Sunday, June 13, South Bay Bible Church, 578 Montauk Highway, East Moriches, will launch a new teaching series entitled, Opt In, Opt Out: Listen to the Right Voices. Join us in person or online at southbaychurchli.org/livestream, Facebook Live, or YouTube.
All of us wish we could go back and dial up certain voices in our lives. And if we could go back, there are voices we would tune out altogether. But we can't go back. What we can do, however, is begin to listen with greater intensity and discernment now.
In this three-part series, Pastor Hawley introduces us to the three primary voices we should tune into beginning today.
Part 3 of 3: Hearing God’s Voice (Ezekiel 12:2, Matthew 6:8-10, Psalm 46:10) – June 27: If you've been around church people for very long, you've heard the statement: God spoke to me and told me to . . . What do they mean by that? Did he send a text message or leave a voicemail? Does God only speak to certain people and not to others? In the final message in this series, Pastor explains why it's sometimes hard for us to hear God's voice.
