Baptism Team

This team serves baptism candidates in a variety of ways. One of the most important is to be a gracious host showing people where to find the changing rooms, providing towels, and assistance where needed.

Valerie's Story

I have been honored to serve in the baptism ministry for several years at South Bay. Every baptism is different and unforgettable. Believers are making a public declaration and acknowledging Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Baptism is not magical, but it is a very moving spiritual experience for everyone.

Serving on this team has helped my faith walk as it reminds me what Christ did for us - coming down from the perfection of heaven to this sin-filled world, to save His children. Jesus was humble, and so should we be.

My heart and faith are always revived through serving. It is as much a gift to serve, as it is for the ones being baptized. I have been blessed with stronger faith, peace and love for the church than I ever had before.
