Sermon Date: November 3, 2019
Speaker: Pastor Matthew Horne
Do you ever get frustrated when the abundant life Jesus promised doesn’t seem to be your reality? This series presents five keys to help you grow in your faith, discover true abundant life, and get fresh hope for daily living.
There’s a direct link between obedience to God and joy in life. Living for God the way He designed is where one finds true satisfaction and purpose in life. “In lofty theological terms, we call this sanctification,” says Matt Horne, associate pastor, “but in real life, we just call it growing up.”
Whether you consider yourself a church person or not, consider this five-part series, #Adulting, as Pastors Martin Hawley and Matt Horne seek to clarify what it means to be planted and to grow in Christ.
Part 1 of 5: Foundations (John 15:1-8; 1 John 2:3-6; Colossians 2:6-14) – October 26-27: When talking about “Growing up in God,” where do we start? In order to grow up, we must first start with the foundation. This foundation is finding ourselves in Christ. What does it mean to be in Christ? It involves placing our trust in God and surrendering our way of living for the new, abundant life Jesus promises. God redeems our past and redefines our future. We live with new hope. We walk a new path.
